Liz Peveto

Painting Faces and Places

Liz Peveto has a curiosity about life that she has expressed for more than 35 years using her artistic talent and rich vibrant colors, primarily in oil medium, but also in pastel, watercolor and other media.  People, still lifes, landscapes, including the inspiration of plein air--she covers a diversity of subjects in her art, which is her poetry in color and design.
Faces-- Liz Peveto has a gentleness in her that makes her art emotionally appealing and allows her subjects to relax and remain open to her au naturel.  On canvas, she reveals people's expressions, stance and features that provide windows into their character.
Places-- Whether in Belgium, France, Mexico, Norway, Canada, across the US or at the Arctic Circle, Liz Peveto's artist's eye finds subjects that stir her to recreate them, capturing their beauty and uniqueness.

Liz Peveto of Denton, Texas, has had a passion for painting for more than 35 years.  Her art is shown in galleries in Fort Worth, Oklahoma City, Duncan and Lawton, Oklahoma; and held in private collections in many states in the US and cities of the world.

She has studied under and been mentored by nationally celebrated artists.  Such noted artists include Bernice Brown, Mary Price, the late Lajos Markos, Frederick Taubes, John Balm, Tom Browning, David Leffel, Tim Diebler, C. W. Mundy and William Kalwick and others in workshops across the country or at the Scottsdale Artist's School, Fredericksburg Artist's School or Loveland Academy.  Gay Falkenberry, J. Chris Morel, Matt Smith, Ralph Oberg and C.W. Mundy have taught her a love of plein air painting.
